Audio and Visual

Audio
*Optical Media is the more traditional analog storage media such as CDs and DVDs. Students can use this to listen to material based on the lesson plan.
*The expanding digital audio media  would be iPods. Students now have apps that can help them through assignments. The apps could now be their tutor because they have apps for every subject.
Visuals
*Chalk Boards/White Boards is more of the traditional for nonprojected visuals. Students can look at these boards, and teaching could be taught the standard way.
*The expanding display would be the Smart Boards. Teachers don't have to take time to write anymore, the Smart Boards does everything for them. The Smart Boards just have a way to easily distract students because of all the major things that it does to help teach the class.

Based on the information in chapter 6, would you prefer to teach in a classroom that had more or less digital technologies? Why or why not?

I would prefer to teach in a classroom with less digital technologies because it gives the teacher a chance to be more creative with the lesson plan. They also have more of a variety of teaching and learning strategies. Technology will also be a distraction to my students and will give them more of an advantage to "slack" while doing work. I believe students should be engaged in activity in the classroom with each other and physical items versus technology which will basically do the work for them. The teachers can use white boards, or chalk boards to teach their lesson plans rather than using computers and Powerpoints. This generation today is based all around technology, and some kids are not engaging in the classrooms like they should be.

My name is Brittany Evans, and I attend Bowling Green State University. I am 19, but I will be 20 years old in about 3 weeks! I am a Libra, my birthday is October 10th. I am a person who just loves family and friends. I cherish the many friends I have because I am the only child. I love my mother so much, because she is the person who I am today. It was mainly just my mother and I my entire life, so she is the rock that holds me together. I also love music, watching television, and being with my friends. My favorite color is red, and I also love to eat. I have a dog, who I call my little brother and his name is Blaze. He is very smart, and sometimes I can talk to him and I really think that he knows everything that I am saying.
